Chances are that you use at least one Smartphone, and on it is a map application that opens up to reveal information such as your current geographical location and, gives directions to anywhere you want to go. And while many of us in Nigeria are not used to using these map applications daily for the aforementioned purposes, and some don’t even know their phones have it, the fact is that, in the not-so-distant future, we will increasingly rely on them to guide us into unknown territories and, if we ever get lost, to help us navigate to a familiar place .

Anyone who has ever used a physical map knows that with it one can instantly see landmarks, businesses and infrastructures present in the location the map is designed to cover. Today, electronic map technologies like their real word equivalent does the same, and does a better job at that.
